TechBridge Leadership Takes Home Four Orbie Awards

What a beautiful day in Alabama to celebrate our technology professionals at the inaugural AlabamaCIO Orbies Awards. All twelve of our TechBridge Alabama Leadership Board Members were nominated for an Orbie Award! Six were chosen as Finalists. In the Global division: Ellen Holladay, Motion Industries and John Fallis, Drummond Company, Inc. In the Large Enterprise division: David Cox, Southern Company, Lynn Lovelady, Energen and Rusty Yeager, Encompass Health. In the Enterprise Division: Jamie Adams, Mspark.

Our TechBridge Board Chair and CIO of Blue Cross Blue Shield Alabama was given the Leadership Award for his tremendous contribution to strengthening the Birmingham technology ecosystem, his strategic vision for his company’s information systems and his enabling efforts among the nonprofit community with his work with Aspire Movement, YMCA, American Cancer, Restoration Academy, Foundations Early Learning Center, TechBirmingham and as a lifelong supporter of the United Way. Well deserved, Scott!

It is with a grateful heart, that I thank our TechBridge Outreach Committee members for volunteering at the awards event this morning…Matt Adcock, Annie Allen, Jeff Merck, Greg Jenkins, Derrick Helms, Benjamin James and JG Carver.  Congratulations, Tamara Lopata, Executive Director of the AlabamaCIO and former TechBridge colleague and Dr. Curt Carver, CIO UAB, TechBridge Board Member and current AlabamaCIO Chair on an outstanding inaugural event. It was amazing!
