TechBridge Announces New Georgia Board Leaders

July 8, 2020

ATLANTA – We are pleased to announce the appointment of John Hutchins, Partner at Baker & Hostetler LLP, as TechBridge Georgia’s newest Board Chair.  John takes the baton from Vish Narendra, SVP & CIO at Graphic Packaging International.  Vish did an amazing job as TechBridge Georgia’s Board Chair for the last four years and was instrumental in helping TechBridge grow our Technology Career Program (TCP).  To honor Vish for his service, The Vish Narendra TCP Graduate of Excellence Award (valued at $2,500) will be given to a deserving recipient at this year’s Digital Ball, and annually after that.  We thank Vish for his service.

John Hutchins brings a wealth of experience to his new role as Board Chair, having served as a TechBridge board member from 2007 to 2012, returning in 2016, and then serving as Vice-Chair from 2017 to 2020. John is a veteran trial and technology lawyer with a broad range of experience encompassing complex commercial litigation and trial work, privacy and data security matters, compliance, and strategic counseling on technology matters and transactions. John will play a huge role in helping TechBridge further its impact with JusticeServer™, which offers the latest online legal case management technology and connects pro bono attorneys with families that can’t afford to fight legal injustices on their own.

Julie Untener, VP of IT Governance for NCR Corporation, was appointed as Vice-Chair.  Julie’s expertise in IT governance and enterprise resource management is expansive. Julie is also adept at revenue growth and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in building sustainable organizations. Julie joined the TechBridge Georgia Board in 2019.  Julie will partner with John Hutchins as they explore the possibilities of a TechBridge National Board.

Trayvon Leslie, Georgia Power Company Renewable Development Customer Engagement Manager, was appointed as Secretary.  In his role at Georgia Power, Trayvon is responsible for leading teams focused on customer renewable programs, solar installation analysis, and its interconnections to customer-owned solar projects. Trayvon joined the TechBridge Georgia Board in 2019. Trayvon will be an asset as we re-engineer our board governance processes.

Scott McGlaun, CIO of BlueCross BlueShield Alabama, was appointed as Treasurer. Scott joined the TechBridge Georgia Board in 2018 and also serves as the Board Chair for TechBridge Alabama.  Having served on several boards, Scott brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and expertise, especially as TechBridge explores the possibility of additional community expansions.

TechBridge is in its 20th year of working to transform communities by using technology to empower nonprofit organizations and individuals to break the cycle of generational poverty. TechBridge continues to focus on empowering nonprofits with technology while narrowing its focus towards providing low-cost technology solutions in hunger relief, homeless support, legal justice, and workforce development.  We are excited and look forward to continued success under the leadership of TechBridge’s CEO, Nicole Armstrong, and our newly elected board officers and board members.
