Maximizing Your Metrics with Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack & Add-Ons

With Salesforce.org’s continued commitment to donate ten enterprise licenses to qualifying 501c3 nonprofits, the Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) is one of the highest performing, affordable solutions available to development officers and grant managers. Salesforce.org’s recent article, 5 Ways the Nonprofit Success Pack Can Help Accelerate Your Fundraising, outlines how the NPSP allows nonprofits to harness essential data and

  • Access a full snapshot of every constituent & donor
  • Track all types of donations in one place
  • Plan their Moves Management strategy with built-in engagement tools
  • Show their impact
  • Extend with the AppExchange

However, NPSP often requires fine-tuning to make the most of a nonprofit’s data. Our Nonprofit Operations Consultant Sean Williams appreciates how Salesforce’s NPSP continues to add on ever-more useful reporting capabilities and new modules to enhance its ability to manage donations and grants. However, he adds that organizations who want to capture donations online through their website will need to consider a third-party tool that integrates with Salesforce, e.g., FormAssembly.

Williams notes that setting up the NPSP, configuring it with third-party tools, and adding custom functionality and reporting is a daunting task for most small- to medium-size nonprofits, who should consider budgeting for a third-party consultant to assist with implementation and training on the system and ensure a smooth adoption of the new tool.

With the right add-ons in place, the NPSP can help your nonprofit track and improve critical metrics (e.g., increasing the percentage of recurring donors) by leveraging data to improve your ability to communicate with key stakeholders (e.g., pulling a LYBUNT report[1]) and marketing a specific request to potential repeat donors.
