Bill VanCuren (NCR Corporation) received the prestigious Ed Steinike CIO Award during an entertaining and inspiring evening at our annual Digital Ball. The CIO Award is a cornerstone of a conclave celebrating how common business technology solutions assist Georgia nonprofits to serve more people in new and effective ways. The award was presented to Bill VanCuren by Insight’s Rick Grande.
SVP & CIO VanCuren oversees the strategic IT portfolio, global networks, and processing services for both internal and external customer-managed services for NCR Corporation. The NCR IT organization is consistently named to InformationWeek’s 500 and CIO Magazine’s CIO 100. The Wall Street Journal, Forbes Magazine, and Georgia’s own Atlanta Business Chronicle have regularly interviewed VanCuren to tease out his insights about the potential impact of new technologies and the expanding role of IT leadership in managing business strategies. VanCuren serves on the advisory board for Georgia Tech’s Scheller College of Business and the University of Georgia MIS program. VanCuren co-chairs the GeorgiaCIO Leadership Association and devotes his time and energy to Atlanta-area nonprofits providing technology to the underprivileged. Among these nonprofites are PowerMyLearning and the hundreds of IT projects tackled by our consulting teams.
A stalwart proponent of our mission to help nonprofits use information as businesses do, VanCuren has served as a member of the Awards Voting Committee, emeritus host of the Digital Ball, lead organizer of NCR’s Adopt-A-Nonprofit (technology solutions) program, and supporter of the TeeITUp for TechBridge tournament (which raises money annually for nonprofit organizations). Bill has also served in the arduous but meaningful role of evaluating grant applications for nonprofit organization IT projects. William (Bill) T. VanCuren graduated cum laude with a B.S. from The Ohio State University and earned his M.B.A. from the University of Dayton. He also participated in the executive education program at Stanford University.
