Atlanta, GA – February 8, 2008. TechBridge, a nonprofit supporting nonprofits with technology solutions, has extended the deadline to February 15, 2008 for their call for applications to all Georgia nonprofits for the TechBridge Technology Innovation Award. The Technology Innovation Award, given by Accenture, recognizes innovative nonprofits for their effective use of technology. The winner of the seventh Technology Innovation Award will receive $15,000 in TechBridge consulting services, $25,000 in Microsoft software and a $5,000 cash grant. Two finalists will each receive $5,000 in TechBridge services, $10,000 in Microsoft software and a $1,000 cash grant. The winner and two finalists will also receive valuable PR opportunities and be highlighted at the prestigious Digital Ball on May 10, 2008 to an audience of more than 1,200 technology, nonprofit, and business professionals. “The TechBridge Technology Innovation Award applicants distinguish themselves by leveraging technology beyond traditional means,” said Barb Kunkel, CIO of Troutman Sanders LLP and a 2007 award judge. “These organizations are transforming information into knowledge giving their employees, volunteers and key stakeholders the power to increase their outreach to the community, efficiently connect people to people, effectively raise more funds, and lower costs.” Commenting on Accenture’s continued support of the Technology Innovation Award, Craig Ramsey, managing director of the firm’s Atlanta office adds, “Accenture is pleased to continue our partnership with TechBridge to recognize and encourage innovation in the nonprofit community through support of this award. We are committed to delivering innovation and helping our business and government clients become high-performance organizations, so it makes sense to support and encourage the nonprofit sector to do the same.” Past award recipients include: Juvenile Justice Fund and Fulton County Children’s Advocacy Center (2007), CHRIS Kids (2006), Hemophilia of Georgia, Inc.
