Date Set for TechBridge Digital Ball® 2008 |
Atlanta – November 7, 2007. TechBridge, a nonprofit dedicated to putting technology know-how into the hands of other nonprofits, is pleased to announce that its annual fundraising event, the TechBridge Digital Ball, presented by Accenture, will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2008. Identified by many previous attendees as ‘the technology business event to attend’, the gala will again take place at the Georgia World Congress Center and is expected to bring together approximately 1,200 technology, business and nonprofit leaders. Sponsorship commitments are expected to generate more than $1 million in cash and in-kind donations to fund TechBridge operations and its technology programs and services delivered to nonprofits at greatly subsidized rates. The event will be co-chaired by Kristin Kirkconnell, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, AGL Resources and Jean-Michel Arès, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, The Coca-Cola Company. “I have been involved with TechBridge for the past five years as a Technology Innovation Award judge, Digital Ball host and co-chair,” said Kristin Kirkconnell. “I am involved because I firmly believe in TechBridge’s mission. The funds raised at the Digital Ball help ensure that all nonprofits benefiting from TechBridge’s expertise can serve thousands of people in need around our state.” For the 8th consecutive year Accenture will serve as the event’s presenting sponsor. “Accenture partners with clients to bring technology innovation into the corporate and government sectors every day, so it makes sense for us to encourage similar innovation in the nonprofit sector through our support of TechBridge,” says Craig Ramsey, Managing Director – Atlanta Office, Accenture. “We look forward to continuing our work with TechBridge to help nonprofits across the region realize their full potential through improved technology.” Tasked to oversee the myriad of details that ensure a successful event is the 2008 Digital Ball Executive Committee, an impressive group of Georgia business leaders including: Clint Bailey, Hunter Technical Resources A highlight of the Digital Ball will be the presentation of TechBridge’s Technology Innovation Award, given by Accenture. The award recognizes a nonprofit organization that uses technology to significantly impact its mission. The award winner will receive $65,000 in TechBridge services, Microsoft software and cash. Two finalists will each receive $16,000 in TechBridge services, Microsoft software and cash. The deadline for nonprofits to apply for the Technology Innovation Award is February 8, 2008 and applications can be submitted online at www.techbridge.org.
