Record Attendance and Participation at the Digital Ball |
On all levels, TechBridge delivered last Saturday at its sixth annual Digital Ball, attracting over 1,200 attendees and raising over $1 million to help put technology know-how in the hands of non-profits. All elements of the event occurred with class and style – the VIP reception, the general reception, the dinner, the entertainment (opera singers, acrobats, horses – oh my!), the prizes and the Technology Innovation Award. This award went to the Juvenile Justice Fund and Fulton County Children’s Advocacy Center. (Additional finalists were the Bobby Dodd Institute and The Well Project.) Many CIOs, technology company CEOs and others expressed…actually, let’s just let them speak for themselves!
"Supporting TechBridge is a way to help hundreds of not-for-profits have more capacity to fulfill their mission through better use of technology. Every year, TechBridge serves more and more not-for-profits, and all thanks goes to the wonderful team there and the support of so many of our technology leaders."
Wain Kellum, President & CEO, Trusted Network Technologies
"The Digital Ball gets better each year - as entertainment. More important than that, the Digital Balls enable us to see technology intersect with life - which profits all of us. The TechBridge ‘not-for-profit’ label is clearly a misnomer."
Jeff Clement, Managing Director Professional Services Technology, Spherion
"Once again, the Digital Ball was THE place to be for the IT community. We are fortunate to have TechBridge and a cadre of engaged, authentic leaders in Atlanta’s technology community, committed to make a difference for the greater good."
Guido Sacchi, CIO & SVP, Corporate Strategies, CompuCredit
"The TechBridge Digital Ball has become a highlight of my year. It’s a great opportunity for Atlanta’s technology leaders to come together, celebrate the industry we work in, and help raise funds for an organization that truly makes a powerful difference in our community."
Becky Blalock, SVP & CIO, Southern Company
"The Digital Ball continues to bring together the technology community with a first rate mission in a way that no other event can. The heartfelt stories from the nonprofit organizations are truly inspirational. Kudos to Jack, his staff, the BODs and the technology community for making a difference."
Brian Shield, Executive Vice President & CIO, The Weather Channel
"The Digital Ball was a great opportunity to have fun, meet new people, and renew old acquaintances. Most importantly, it was inspiring to see the ways that Atlanta’s technology community and TechBridge are using the power of information to improve our world."
Steve Winterbottom, Vice President & CIO, Scientific Atlanta, a Cisco Company
"I was floored by the sold out attendance of 1200 people - all there to sponsor the wonderful things TechBridge does for the community. This is an association that is unique in every way!"
John Seral, Vice President and CIO of GE Infrastructure
"The Digital Ball is always over the top fun. I caught up with 50 people in 5 hours! High Speed Networking at its Finest!"
Frank Bell, President & CEO, Intellinet
"The Digital Ball makes me proud to be a part of such a vibrant technology community. Thanks to everyone involved – this event and TechBridge truly are remarkable!"
Marian Lucia, EVP & CIO, Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta
"TechBridge and its Digital Ball are leading examples of what the private / public partnership is all about: corporate America combining with locally focused non-profits to make the community in which we work and live a better place for everyone."
Michael Kogon, CEO, Definition 6
"The importance of TechBridge’s ability to be a friend and partner to non-profits is clearly represented by the tremendous support and presence of the business community at the Digital Ball."
Cindy Tierney, Chief Information Officer, Beazer Homes
"It was great to see such a turnout for the Digital Ball, the major fund raiser for TechBridge. TechBridge does a wonderful job of supporting the non-profit organizations of our community."
Sig Mosley, President, Imlay Investments
"The key technology event in Atlanta each year is the TechBridge Digital Ball. Acting like a tech magnet, the Digital Ball brings together the best in our community -- major tech and commercial businesses, leading CIOs, and our key entrepreneurs. The success of TechBridge and the Digital Ball centers around the focus on having fun while supporting worthy causes."
