Atlanta - July 14, 2005. TechBridge, a nonprofit supporting nonprofits with technology solutions, announced today that it has been awarded a contract with the Pfizer Foundation to provide Web site development services and technology training to 24 HIV/AIDS services organizations located across the Southeast. The services are valued at approximately $43,000.
The technology assistance program is part of the Pfizer Foundation’s Southern HIV/AIDS Prevention Initiative, a grant program for small to midsized nonprofit HIV/AIDs community-based organizations in nine southern states. TechBridge will deliver an array of services including developing custom websites, providing do-it-yourself Web site development tools and conducting assessments of existing agency sites. TechBridge will also coordinate training classes for Microsoft Office and other PC applications for the HIV/AIDS group staff. TB is partnering with New Horizons Computer Learning Centers to offer the training.
“A key goal of the Southern HIV/AIDS Prevention Initiative is to remove technology barriers that might hinder an HIV/AIDS agency’s ability to provide prevention, treatment and support services,” said Erica Weinberg, Program Officer for the Pfizer Foundation. “TechBridge has an established record of success in helping nonprofits maximize their use of technology and is very well-suited to help us implement the technology assistance element of our program.”
“The Pfizer Foundation’s foresight and generosity is enabling TechBridge to extend its mission to a highly deserving community of nonprofits,” said Jack McMillan, CEO of TechBridge. “We are proud to be working with Pfizer to help HIV/AIDs organizations leverage technology in their fight against the disease.”
