TechBridge raised $1.1 million in cash and services from its annual gala, the Digital Ball, held May 7 -- an increase of $200,000 in cash from the previous year. In addition, $16,000 was raised by a raffle at the event.
TechBridge, a nonprofit that provides reduced-priced tech services to other nonprofits, has held the ball every year since 2001. More than 1,160 people attended the bash, sponsored by information technology consultant Accenture Ltd.
Hemophilia of Georgia Inc. received TechBridge's tech innovation award, given out to operations that have used technology in an inventive and efficient way. The group won the award -- and $40,000 in consulting services from TechBridge and Microsoft software -- for its new client management system. The online system, which automates many of the medicine dispensing and inventory procedures, cuts order time nearly in half.
