TechBridge Announces Corporate Partner Program
…Program matches technology “volunteerism” from local companies with nonprofits technology needs
Atlanta, GA – February 25, 2005 – TechBridge, a nonprofit supporting nonprofits with technology solutions, announces their Corporate Partner Program. TechBridge’s Corporate Partner Program helps companies involve their employees in helping nonprofits with technology needs. The Corporate Partner Program provides Board Matching, Technology Advisory Committee Matching and TechBridge Quality Advisor program and Technology Task Matching.
“We developed the program, in response to Sponsor feedback,” says Jack McMillan, CEO of TechBridge. “This exciting new program allows companies to more fully engage their employee volunteers in the mission of TechBridge. Employees participate with nonprofits working on community volunteer projects and build relationships in the nonprofit sector. The response to this program has been very positive from both the IT community and the nonprofit community.”
The Nonprofits submit needed technology projects and then are matched with technology experts from local companies. In addition, there is Board Matching and Technology Advisory Committee Matching. All needed at the nonprofit level.
“We know our employees are leaders in our industry. This program gives our employees an opportunity to show that they are community leaders as well,” said John Seral, CIO, GE Energy, an early supporter of the program. “We were very happy to participate with TechBridge in the launch of this program for our local nonprofits.”
Partner Companies
Numerous companies signed up after hearing initial one-on-one discussions. They include technology companies and technology divisions of non-technology companies, such as IT department of Home Depot and GE Energy. There was a volunteer meeting in early January for these companies.
“The Home Depot has a long history of giving back to the community, and we are excited that our Information Technology department will participate in the TechBridge effort to help nonprofit organizations streamline and improve their IT operations. We are proud to sponsor TechBridge so they can help nonprofits better serve the community.” said Dave Kardesh, vice president, IT – Special Order and Services.
